thanks for buying our
ethni cards

we’d love to tell you more about what we do

These decks were designed by young women from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Every deck you hold helped fund the work that makes that possible.

100% of profits go straight back into our programs.

Ethni is a registered non-profit. When you bought these cards, you weren't just picking up a facilitation tool — you helped fund mental health programs, employment pathways, and safe spaces for young women from refugee, migrant, and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to be seen, supported, and set up to thrive.

We are ethni

Ethni is a peer-led non-profit based in Logan, South East Queensland, working alongside young women from refugee, migrant, and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds so they can heal, grow, and lead on their own terms.

Our work happens across three areas:

  • Heal — safe, peer-led spaces to talk, connect, and look after wellbeing with people who truly get it

  • Grow — programs and social enterprise experience that build skills, confidence, and real work experience

  • Lead — mentoring and leadership pathways that help young women use their voice and lead change in their own communities

One of the ways we put "Grow" into action is Maua Boutique, our social enterprise florist and gift shop — a real workplace that bridges young women into meaningful employment.

In 2024 alone:

  • 375 young women reached through in-person programs and events

  • 8 young women employed through Maua Boutique

  • 19 young women employed within the Ethni team

  • 60+ women connected through our creative workshops

Maybe it's the patriarchy - oversized tee (Lilac)

Maybe it’s actually not you…. Maybe, it’s the patriarchy.

We are very excited to release our new Ethni x Maua Boutique collab … just in time for International Women’s Day.

It’s playful. It’s bold. It’s a little bit political.
And it says exactly what needs to be said.

Is it really that you are “too emotional”, “too loud” or “too ambitious”… is it you, or is it the partiarchy?

Stories of our Sisters - Poetry Book
$25.00

A collection of poetry born from the lived experience of young women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Stories of Our Sisters gathers voices that speak to identity, belonging, displacement, family, and the quiet strength it takes to carry two worlds at once.

This poetry collection is for anyone who has ever carried a story they didn’t know how to tell. Stories of Our Sisters was born from a six-month journey where a group of young women of colour came together to tell their raw, unfiltered and nuanced stories through poetry. This book is our love letter to anyone who has survived something and is on the journey of becoming.

This beautiful 60 page soft cover book is more than just poetry. It includes beautiful portraits and imagery that tells the story of the authors alongside their powerful words.

Every dollar from the sale of this book goes to funding the next Stories of our Sisters writing program for young women from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
