Created by young people, for young people
The words, emotions, and strengths come from lived experience - not just theory.
Strengths Deck

Feelings Deck
Gives young people accessible language for what they’re feeling, making it easier to explore emotional experiences without pressure.
How to use the Strengths & Feelings Cards in practice
There’s no “wrong” way to use them - but here are some tried-and-tested ideas from practitioners:
-
Prompt: “Choose a card that describes how you’re arriving today,” or “Pick a strength you’re bringing into this conversation.”
✔ Great for: counselling, youth work, school wellbeing appointments.
-
Ask each participant to choose a strengths card that represents them, or a feelings card that reflects how they’re leaving the group.
✔ Great for: small groups, programs, workshops.
-
Invite young people to choose more than one feelings card (e.g. “hopeful” + “scared”) and explore how both can be true.
✔ Great for: trauma, change, anxiety, transitions.
-
Start with the Strengths Deck to help identify what’s already working, then build goals that lean into those strengths.
✔ Great for: case planning, mentoring, coaching.
-
Use the decks as prompts for writing, art, circle time, or class discussions about identity, culture, and wellbeing.
✔ Great for: classroom SEL, pastoral care, wellbeing lessons.
what professionals are saying
-
“These are the only tools my young clients actually want to use. The Feelings Cards help my clients name what’s going on without shutting down. The Strengths Cards are brilliant for finishing on something hopeful and grounding.”
— Emma, Youth Counsellor, Brisbane
-
“They’ve changed the way I start sessions. Instead of forcing conversation, I ask them to pick a card. It’s such a simple shift but it opens up so much more honest dialogue.”
— David, School Psychologist
-
“Perfect for groups and check-ins. We use them for weekly wellbeing check-ins, group intros, and even conflict repair. The language sits well across ages and backgrounds.”
— Aisha, Youth Worker & Program Facilitator
